Charlie has a pretty great team of humans who love him fiercely and show up in different ways.
Momma, Charlie, and Olivia will be relocating from Massachusetts to Texas in 2026 to be closer to extended family and build a more sustainable life together. This page is about the people who make up Charlie’s world.
Let’s meet them.
First up, there’s Momma.
Momma’s name is Carla, and yes, she’s older than Charlie. A lot older. But we won’t go there.
She loves writing, sewing, painting, repurposing furniture, and generally making things work when the world doesn’t design them for special needs families. When something Charlie needs doesn’t exist or is wildly unaffordable, Momma usually just… makes it.

Charlie’s oldest sibling is Samantha. Sam is all grown up and lives in Florida.
She’s a talented painter (even if she’d never say that herself), has a heart of gold, loves road trips, and marches to the beat of her own drum. Sam’s one of those people who quietly makes the world better just by being in it.

Charlie’s only brother is Joshua. Josh lives in Massachusetts with his wife, Jasmine, and their son, Elias.
Josh has been trained the longest and most extensively in Charlie’s care. He claims he didn’t get the creative gene, but what he won’t admit is that he’s a natural storyteller. Momma thinks he’d make a fantastic writer. Josh also has a deep interest in psychology and a very clever mind.
Next up is Tristin, the sibling right in the middle.
Tristin lives in Texas and is the co-illustrator of the Charlie books. She handles the digital side of the artwork after Olivia creates the hand-drawn scenes. Tristin is also training to help Momma more directly with Charlie’s care once they’re under the same roof.

Then there’s Olivia.
Olivia is still too young to leave the nest (not by much, though) and is Charlie’s closest sibling in both age and emotional bond. She LOVES her little brother to the moon and back.
She’s the other co-illustrator of the Charlie books, drawing scenes by hand before Tristin digitizes them. Olivia enjoys performing on stage, acting in plays and musicals, drawing, and singing. She’s creative, compassionate, and deeply connected to Charlie.
We try really hard to bring Charlie with us on as many adventures as possible. Life looks different for our family, but it’s full of love, creativity, and moments that matter.
